It tells the story of a woman named Rahayu. Her father was vilified in the massacre of witch doctors that took place in Banyuwangi in May 1998. Rahayu felt unsafe and decided to leave Banyuwangi. They moved to her hometown in Jetis, Yogyakarta.

Unfortunately, even though they had moved home, their family was still terrorized and ostracized by local residents because they were considered a witch doctor’s family. Rahayu could initially understand the community’s reaction and response. She tried to be strong by praying that her heart would be lightened.

Behind her solitude, she began to feel strange things inside her. She became difficult to concentrate when praying. She also often forgot the number of rak’ahs she had done. Over time Rahayu was known to get interference and a jinn nicknamed Khanzab.
